Adam's Training Diary
Ok, I'll be the first one to go then!
Took some weight measurements and my target figures (at least for the moment) are in brackets - I'm going to update these every 2 weeks:
Height = 178cm
Weight = 80.6kg (75kg)
BMI = 25.44 (23.6)
Body Fat = 22.3% (10%) <--------FAT BASTARD!
Lean Muscle Mass = 59.5kg (65kg)
Metabolic Age = 38 (like to get this below 30 preferably!)
I'd like to get below all of these targets but I've set attainable goals in the short to medium term (although I've not been 75kg for 4 years now!) to make sure I don't lose heart

Re: Adam's Training Diary
Just did my 2.75 mile loop in 20:22.
I set out to do 4 mile but my 4 mile route was really boggy and I felt crap. Unsurprisingly I felt like I'd just come off a marathon drinking session in Belgium, drinking white hot Belgian beer! The first run is always the hardest so glad to get that one out of the way.
My best time for that route is 17:46 in October 2006 so I'm some way off that at the moment.

Re: Adam's Training Diary
I am not getting too specific on my training for the next 2 weeks as I just need to run any time I get chance in the lead up to Rivington Tri. I will start to get a bit more organised after that.
Today I managed a swim (during which I felt like I had spent too much time drinking warm Dupiler) then a 4 mile run with AnnMarie (during which I felt like I had spent too much time drinking warm Dupiler!!!!!!).
Tomorrow is hopefully a cycle with Steven then an open water swim on Thu night.

Good man. When you do, start your own thread so you can track each persons more easily.
Did the same 2.75 mile run tonight but in the opposite direction, and did 20:19. I ran with my ipod yesterday and didn't today but today felt a little harder. I think it's partly because I was tired but also because I do think listening to music makes you go faster. I wouldn't try it swimming though!
Still feeling the Juliper.

Re: Adam's Training Diary
Had a rest day today as was knackered. Went for a short walk and did some Abdominal work instead (crunches, plank, twists, bridges).
Will do some aerobic / gym work tomorrow instead.

Re: Adam's Training Diary
Did a 12.5 mile cycle off road today along Reddish Vale and the Trans Pennine trail - it was awesome, I think I'll do a few more cycles.
Only thing is, I have a 4 year old £60 Decathlon chicken chaser with no suspension. When you're going off-road, this is not a good idea! My arse feels like I've been sitting on a washing machine in an earthquake

Re: Adam's Training Diary
Ran 3.97 miles today clockwise round my Denton loop (See Here)
Did it in 31:21 averaging 7.54.
Mile 1 - 7:39
Mile 2 - 8:06
Mile 3 - 8:22 (steep uphill)
Mile 4 - 7:37 (extrapolated)
Was trying to concentrate on form rather than speed to try and change my running technique because of my bad back, so felt like I had something left in the tank in the last mile.
Coming along fairly nicely - I'd like to be breaking 30 mins for this run in 3 weeks.

Re: Adam's Training Diary
Did 4.78 mile on road and canal banks today in an average of 7:18 per mile:
Mile 1 - 7:36
Mile 2 - 7:35
Mile 3 - 7:20
Mile 4 - 7:08
Mile 5 - 6:53 (extrapolated - split was 5:12 for 0.78 miles)
Felt really good but again was concentrating on form; it's starting to come more natural for me now and back is hurting less which is a good sign!
Really happy with that as went through 4 miles over 2 minutes faster than my run the other day (albeit that is hillier).
Really fancy a Jupiler now... it would seem I'm not the only one!
