Steve's Training Diary
Right then, best take this seriously!
Aims for the next few weeks are to beast the training to get round Rivington Tri on Sunday 7th Sept without excessive amounts of pain!! Tony reliably informs me the tri consists of:
1.5k open water swim
40k bike ride
10k run
So the diary should look like (and actual completed in red): -
Mon 18th Aug Rest day 6k bike ride to Morrisons - bonus!
Tues 19th Man Tri Swim Session (3-4k) Missed it but ended up in a Swim Club session by accident at Total Fitness, so did 2k hard swim
Weds 20th 40k ride on tri route Scrapped that off because of inclement weather, so 4.5mile/7.2k run instead. Did it in 36 mins, so 8:10/mile which isn't bad given I've not run since Glossop tri in July.
Thurs 21st Open water Swim Session - with at least 1.2k non stop
Fri 22nd Maybe a sneaky morning run before Leeds!
Sat 23rd Calf exercises traversing Leeds wearing wellys in mud
Sun 24th Ditto
Mon 25th 40k ride on tri route
Tues 26th Man Tri Swim Session
Weds 27th 40k ride on tri route then at least 2k of run route
Thurs 28th Open Water Swim Session - at least 1.5k non stop
Fri 29th Spin class - also payday, so excessive eating and drinking, sorry carb loading!!
Sat 30th In London so R&R+D
Sun 31st 40k ride on tri route if back in time
Mon 1st 10k run
Tues 2nd Man Tri Swim Session
Weds 3rd 40k ride in tri route plus at least 5k of run route
Thurs 4th Open Water Swim Session - at least 1.5k non stop
Fri 5th REST!!!!
Sat 6th PANIC!!!!!
Sun 7th T-day!
Easy!!

Re: Steve's Training Diary
Sadly no 40k cycle yesterday as completely fcuked from Leeds. Awesome weekend though, and got very amusing when I was expkaining to people all about the ti in a couple of weeks having just had my first vodka with breakfast!
Time to take this seriously I think. Post some target times up to give me more of an incentive!

Re: Steve's Training Diary
And so 3k swim with the tri club on Tues, although this focused on technique rather than speed so not a hard session.
On Weds Tony and I did the 40k bike route from the tri in 1:37, so 1:30 on the day looks achievable. And by virtue of not being able to find a chip shop afterwards to undo the good work it counts as a good training session!!
Then 4 mile run yesterday with sprints for the final 2 miles. Couldn't find my Nike Ipod thing so no idea about times.
Target for the weekend - at least 10k/6m run tomorrow in 50 mins, then 40k tri bike route (hopefully closer to 1:30) followed immediately by 2-4k run route on Sunday.
